The National Housing Programme is being implemented this year. Contributing to this effort, the National Housing Development Authority is carrying out the housing assistance programme titled “A Place of Your Own – A Beautiful Life”, targeting low-income families who do not have proper shelter.Under this project, the newly constructed house for Mrs. W.G.R. Lasanthi Gamage, located in the Boralanda Grama Niladhari Division of the Welimada Divisional Secretariat Division in the Badulla District, was ceremonially opened on the 12th under the patronage of the Hon. Governor of Uva Province, Attorney-at-Law J.M. Kapila Jayasekara.

The house was constructed with a financial grant of LKR 1 million provided by the National Housing Development Authority, along with the support of local residents. Technical guidance and supervision were carried out by the Badulla District Office.
