At this event, foundation stones were laid for the houses of beneficiaries M.T. Mohamed Rusni of the Kammalthara Grama Niladhari Division in the Negombo Divisional Secretariat, G.H. Madushika Fernando of the East Daluwakotuwa Grama Niladhari Division, P. Edil Nishantha of the East Dalupta Grama Niladhari Division, W. Dilhani Fernando of the Dalupta Grama Niladhari Division, P. Samugha Priya of the Kudapaduwa Grama Niladhari Division, K.S. Mary Amaleshwari of the Siriwardhana area Grama Niladhari Division, and H.A.D. Santhana Lakshani of the Kapungoda Grama Niladhari Division.
Each beneficiary is granted financial assistance of Rs. 1 million from the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) for the construction of their houses.
The new housing program of the present government has already been launched. This program is being implemented by the National Housing Development Authority under the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction, and Housing.
The occasion was attended by Robert Hinkenda, the Mayor of Negombo, Manik Senanayake, Assistant Divisional Secretary of the Negombo Divisional Secretariat Office, along with several other participants.
