Under the new housing program of the current government, the National Housing Development Authority recently held a housing

Under the new housing program of the current government, the National Housing Development Authority recently held a housing assistance cheque distribution program for 111 low-income families in the Kalutara District who were suffering due to the lack of proper housing.

This event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Urban Development, Construction, and Housing, Hon. Anura Karunathilaka, and the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Hon. Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.

The program took place at the auditorium of the Kalutara District Secretariat.
Each beneficiary is entitled to receive Rs. 1 million as housing assistance, and under the first phase, a cheque worth Rs. 100,000 was distributed to each beneficiary.

The event was also attended by Members of Parliament for the Kalutara District—Nandana Pathmakumara, Nilanti Kotthachchi, A.H.G. Danushka Ranganath, Oshani Umanga, and Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe—as well as the Additional District Secretary of Kalutara, Mr. S. Thrimanna, Chairman of the National Housing Development Authority, Mr. Aravinda Sirinath, Kalutara District Manager Mr. Ajith Kumarapperuma, and other government officials.
