Under the current government's housing program, a cheque distribution event for beneficiaries under a project in the Colombo District was held recently.

Accordingly, cheques were handed over to 87 selected beneficiaries for the construction of 100 new houses to replace 100 existing slum dwellings in the Colombo District. The event took place at the Colombo District Office of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA), under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Housing, Mr. T.B. Sarath.

The occasion was also attended by Members of Parliament Mr. Anura Panagoda and Mr. Chandana Suriyaarachchi, along with NHDA Chairman Mr. Aravinda Sirinath, NHDA officials, and a large number of public representatives.
