With the aim of eliminating slum housing, the first house under the "Sewana 2025" project, built with the support of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA), was handed over to a beneficiary family on the 13th (Sunday).

Accordingly, two houses belonging to the Attanagalla Divisional Secretariat Division were handed over on this occasion.

The NHDA expects to hand over 15,000 new houses to beneficiaries islandwide by the end of this year.

The housing need in the Gampaha District is approximately 150,000, and the Authority has allocated one million rupees per beneficiary to complete 250 houses by the end of this year.

Of these, 35 houses are expected to be completed within the Attanagalla Divisional Secretariat Division by the end of this year.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of National Integration Mr. Muneer Mulaffar, Gampaha District Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Attanagalla Coordination Committee Mr. Ruwan Mapalagama, Chairman of the Attanagalla Pradeshiya Sabha Mr. Darshana Wijesinghe, Attanagalla National People's Power Organizer Mr. Pubudu Kapuruge, and Chairman of the National Housing Development Authority Mr. Aravinda Sirinath.
